Ground glass diffusers are a standard component in co-axial lighting. Precision Optical Systems fabricates ground glass diffusers from optical glass in its polished state. This method is preferred over sandblasting as the surface created is more even, with better uniformity. The standard grit used produces a medium diffusion that is ideal for producing evenly distributed light which helps diminish sharp shadows and bright hot spots from illumination.
